3 Powerful Lessons I’ve Learned as a Sleep Consultant, Multi-Business Owner, and Mum of 3

The journey of balancing multiple businesses, helping families get better sleep, and being a Mum to three amazing little ones has taught me so much. Here are three lessons that have become the foundation of how I approach my work, my family, and my daily life. Whether you’re a business owner, a parent, or someone trying to juggle it all, I hope these resonate with you.

1️⃣ Prioritise Your Needs First:
For the longest time, I thought being a good mom and dedicated business owner meant always putting everyone else’s needs above my own. But I quickly learned that when I’m running on empty, I can’t be fully present for my family or my clients. By prioritising self-care each morning—whether it’s a quiet cup of coffee or a HIIT quick workout—I’m setting myself up to start the day from a place of fullness. It’s incredible how this small shift helps me feel more creative, grounded, and ready to show up for the people I care about. Self-care isn’t selfish; it’s essential for being my best self.

2️⃣ Work On Your Business, Not Just In It:
Running a business, especially in a field as impactful as sleep consulting, requires more than just doing the daily tasks. I’ve realised that to truly grow and evolve, I need to carve out time to step back, strategize, and dream big. Setting aside time to work on the business means exploring new ideas, learning from other experts, and finding ways to expand and collaborate. It’s in these moments of big-picture thinking that real progress happens. When you stop to ask, “How can I improve what I’m doing? How can I serve my clients better?”—that’s when growth really takes off.

3️⃣ It’s Never About the Price; It’s About the Value:
In any service-based business, especially one as personal as sleep consulting, people are looking for genuine value and impact. They want to feel understood, supported, and empowered. It’s not about charging the lowest price—it’s about offering something so valuable that people see it as a worthy investment in their lives. When you genuinely help someone, when you provide real solutions that improve their quality of life, they’re willing to invest in that transformation. I’ve found that when I focus on delivering the best service and creating lasting change for my clients, the rest naturally follows.

Running a business, helping families, and raising my own children are not always easy, but these lessons keep me grounded and motivated. It’s all about balancing purpose, self-care, and a genuine commitment to making a difference. To all the parents, entrepreneurs, and caregivers out there: Remember that you deserve to thrive, not just survive. Here’s to building a life and a business that reflects your values and brings you joy!
